Quantum Semiconductor Technologies exploiting Antimony are set to play a key role worldwide in the 21st century. Semiconductor science and technology is a cross-sector multidisciplinary knowledge domain highly relevant to many economic areas such as computing and storage, telecom, automotive, robotics, energy, environmental, healthcare, aerospace, defence and security. Prognoses and demand evolution of these markets, show a dramatic increase in the significance of compound semiconductors in general, and III-Sb in particular. In both emerging and established applications, making qualified staff is an urgent precondition for the effectiveness of associated research and production.

This endeavour should help to leverage the strength of Europe in a field that has traditionally been dominated by the US and Japan and thus to accelerate the development of these technologies worldwide.
